How martial arts can improve your life and safety, with Bill Mischke

Is it possible for ordinary people like you and me to feel empowered?

Bill Mischke, founder and owner of Flower Mound Taekwondo, believes that the answer to that is a resounding yes. His passion is equipping children and adults for self-defense through martial arts.

A resident of the Flower Mound area for more than two decades, Bill is not so much worried about people getting attacked or hurt in our area. What he wants us to prepare for is when we leave the Flower Mound “bubble" on vacation or when our young adult/children go away to college. And he especially wants young women to be able to protect themselves.

Even within our bubble, bullying is a problem that Bill believes cannot be fixed with school policies. Instead, students need training on how to de-escalate the situation and how to use force if/when necessary.

Along with these lessons in physical empowerment, Bill teaches important life skills such as respect and teamwork. Parents are excited to see these traits strengthening their children’s character, as well as allowing them to receive awesome feedback from teachers.

To achieve these goals, he crafts creative approaches to keep students interested and coming back year after year. Bill has students he has been teaching for more than thirteen years, and is very proud of the privilege he's been given to mold young lives. His online reviewers agree, saying they “absolutely love this place” and it has an “amazing staff.”

Bill is always adding new training methods to serve his clients. Seven years ago, he added Krav Maga (hand-to-hand combat training) to his offerings, as well as tactical classes for handgun owners.
